Task name are coming correctly on vsphere client 6.0 , while in vsphere web client 6.0
there is .label' coming with task name.
Task name in web client is coming with class attribute like BackupNowForVM.label .
However the task issue is not seen in vSphere 5.1&5.5 webclient.
For example following task name are coming in vsphere client and vsphere web client
Snapshot Backup Now For VM (correct) for vsphere client 6.0.
BackupNowForVM.label (Incorrect) for vsphere web client 6.0.
There is key .label is coming in the task name of vsphere web client 6.0

I was not able to setup SSL when installing mirage. I did create an internal CA cert and imported it into the local store but the SSL config was not able to find it.

When setting up Microsoft Cluster nodes in a cluster-across-boxes (multi-host clustering) scenario (two ESXi hosts, two-node MSCS cluster, with one node on each ESXi host), I realize that using Physical Mode RDMs (pass-through RDMs) is the way to go. I also typically locate the C: drive (eager zero thick) for each cluster node on a different VMFS volume to ensure two separate failure domains. So for example the C: drive of Cluster Node 1 (VM1) might be on Datastore1 and the C: drive of Cluster Node 2 (VM2) might be on Datastore2. Likewise, I've always created separate RDM mapping files for each VM as well, pointing to the same raw LUN. For example I would put the RDM mapping file for the quorum shared LUN on Datastore1 for VM1 and a new RDM mapping file pointing to the same quorum LUN on Datastore2 for VM2. This way, the failure of Datastore1 will only affect VM1 and the failure of Datastore2 will only affect VM2. I've been doing this for years (probably since ESX 2.5) and MSCS works great in this configuration.
However, I was re-reading VMware's official "Setup for Failover Clustering and Microsoft Cluster Service" documentation and noticed that VMware specifically states in several places that "A single, shared RDM mapping file for each clustered disk is required." In other words, they call for me to select "Existing Hard Disk" on VM2 and point to the RDM mapping file that I created on VM1, rather than creating a fresh new RDM mapping file for VM2. This strikes me as "less safe" because the failure of Datastore1, or the corruption of RDM mapping file 1, would result in the failure of VM2. A separate RDM mapping file for VM2, on a separate datastore, would ensure two separate fault domains for the two VMs.
Does anyone know why VMware requires a single shared RDM mapping file? Are there specific problems caused by having two separate RDM mapping files?

How do I collect all the ESXi hosts information in a cluster by doing SSH to vCenter. Basically, I want to do SSH to vCenter and get the host version, enic, fnic driver versions. I have a hard limit that my tool can use either SSH or python api's. Appreciate if anyone can point me the right set of commands.

I am currently deploying VMware Horizon View 6 and VMware Horizon Workspace 2.1.1
We want to be able to access View Desktop Pools and Applications running on RDS servers.
The plan is to make this accessible internally and externally.
We are currently running the load balancing solution from Big IP F5 using LTM and APM. (version 11.6 HF4)
We have deployed the F5 iApp template for view version 1.2.1 and are not using View Security Servers.
Here is a list of things we have achieved thus far:
- VMware Horizon View 6 fully functional internally going through the F5 for both RDSH and View Pools.
- VMware Horizon Workspace 2.1.1 is fully functional internally going through the F5 for both RDSH Apps and View Pools
- VMware Horizon View 6 is fully functional externally going through the F5 for both RDSH and View Pools.
- VMware Horizon Workspace 2.1.1. is accessible externally however we are unable to open any apps or view pools.
The view client URL is setup using split DNS
The external F5 access to view is using an APM to authenticate users (created by the iApp).
The internal F5 access to view is not using an APM and is authenticated by the View Connection Server.
My theory is that when Workspace attempts to perform the SAML authentication using the View Client the F5 APM doesn't understand the SAML request and is forcing a fail.
I've tried having the external VIP on the F5 pass through directly to the View Connection server however the RDS Apps still dont work and the View Pool gets stuck with a black screen and then disconnects.
Can anyone assist with what the correct F5 configuration needs to be in order to open RDSH application and View Pools externally?

When I try to use the Perl SDK v5.5 I get SOAP request errors (using Net::HTTP 6.06):

I did some research and it seemed that Net::HTTP 6.06 doesn't work so I downgraded to Net::HTTP 6.03, but still no luck - different errors:

Today after 3 hours to downloading and installing vmware and xp I discovered that without vmware tools it was unnecessary work: when I try to install tools appears the error "Could not find component on update server. Contact VMware Support or your system administrator.".
And I'm discovering that I'm not the only one to have this problem.
how it's possible that none tells something about the origin of this problem?

Running Windows version 7.0 sp1 and Vmware player 7.1.1 build-2771112
When i try to update the player or install the tools for windows I get the error Could not find component on update server. Contact VMware Support or your system administrator.
This happens on two different PC's on two different LAN's/Inet connections. I set my Internet security to low and turned off the firewall and virus scan with no luck.
I tried running VMware as admin, gave myself full permissions etc no luck I am not using a proxy
I've used other versions of player in the past and never had this issue, It is really starting to tick me off to no end!!!!!!! Is this a Microsoft issue ????

I am working with vRealize Configuration manager 5.8 in a two tier configuration, 1) Database / Reporting Service on Windows 2012 R2 and 2) vCM Web / Collector. All dependencies installed as per documentation, and I have been through the videos from VMware, but these vCM 5.7 but the installation process the same.
However I keep getting the error (see attached) and the sollution for this error is too install .NET framework 3.5 on Windows 2012 R2, however this does not seam to fix the problem.
Also, it is not quite clear what permissions are needed for 2-tier installation, the documentation recommends build accounts and domain accounts will local administrators right, I plan to use domain service accounts. Does anyone know what permission are required for these accounts.
If anyone has deployed, 2-Tier installation, can you please share your experience?

I'm trying to install the VMWare tools under my VMWare session using the VMware Player appilcation. The software has installed okay, but when I try to install the VMWare Tools from the menu, I get an error saying it is unable to connect to the server. I have checked the settings under the preferences, and it is pointing to CDS Repository - /var/www/public/stage/session-44/cds. However, when I try to go to that folder there is no entry for 7.1.1. I have tried downloading the Windows tools for 7.1.0 but loading on my virtual machine does nothing (I get no pop up or messages, and clicking on the file again says it is already running).

I'm testing FT in a cluster composed by 2 hosts. I've just 1 VM in the cluster with 256MB RAM assigned. When I enalble the FT for that VM, the reservation is correctly SET at 256MB.
When I power on the VM, I wait the poweron of the secondary and after I check the total reservation on the cluster that is 1500MB.
The overhead of the VMs is just 30MB so I do not understand, how I obtain 1500MB reserved.

VSphere avec 4 serveurs vieux de 5 ans (2 à 64 Go Ram + 2 à 96 Go Ram) et 2 serveurs de 1 an (128 Go Ram) pour héberger +/- 80 serveurs virtuels ( 2008 R2 + 10 2003 R2 + 5 linux) configurés en HA aussi, le tout fonctionne très bien.
Pour être en conformité avec le licensing Oracle je suis obligé de passer de 6 à 4 hosts.
Je souhaite renouveller les machines qui ont 5 ans.
Quel serait selon vous le meilleur compromis technico-financier (hé oui, de moins en moins de sous pour faire de plus en plus de choses ...)

2 ESX neufs (bi-proc costauds, octo-core, 256 Go) pour remplacer les vieux hosts
je conserve mes deux hosts 128 Go de 1 an dans la ferme

About two/three weeks ago I started to experience a very strange error in my environment. (vCenter, vSphere and Horizon are in version 6.x)
At the moment that I try to create an automated pool, using linked clone or full clone, the following error is shown as following:
"The snapshot selected is hardware version 7. Only ESX 4.0 hosts or homogeneous clusters of hosts running ESX 4.0 can be selected."
I know that there is a KB (1028489) reporting this error, but it's applied for View 4.X and I'm running in version 6.
First I thought that it was about an old parent VMs and Snapshots, so I created all parents VMs and snapshot again using the latest virtual machine hardware. But the error still there.
Are there any kind of troubleshooting to solve this issue?
Any ideia is very well aprecciated.
