We are upgrading several Vmware Cluster with new Hardware. We are using Hp Proliant Bl460c Gen9 blades as new Server Hardware. Up to the current state we have tried each Server at least 4 times and every the QHM 2650 Mezzanine Card is in the blades we get the PSOD.
In the following we have upgrade all Firmware to the state of 06/2015. Afterwards we were able to install Vsphere 6.0 but not 5.5 U2 with the HP customized ISO-Image.
We get a PSOD like in the attached Image:

Changed disk to "Independent" but still was able to create a snapshot.

Recently vmware tools stopped launching on my virtual machine running windows xp. When I try to repair the installation, the installer quits advising it cannot complete. I tried to download the iso file for 4.1.3. but when installing was advised that a newer version is already installed. I don't know how to check the version installed, or which version I should be downloading to try a clean install.
Would be grateful for any help or direction.

I've been working with a customer getting VSAN up and running on a 3 Node cluster. Due to their budget they could only allocate a total of 3 10 GbE ports and wanted to use 1 GbE ports as Standby nics. I have a couple concerns.
1.
On the Resource Allocation tab for the VDS these hosts are connecting to shows "Total bandwidth capacity of 1.00 Gbit/s."
Is VSAN or the other connections actually limited to only 1 Gbits or is this just a worse case like the minimum link speed shows?
2.
When testing a failure situation of the 10 GbE (pulling the fibre) things would all flip over to the 1 GbE connection. The VSAN vmk would also flip over and even respond to vmkping commands from the other servers, but the host would go into a different VSAN Network Partition Group. You could see the Datastore size shrink on all drives and repeating the process with the other hosts until they're all on 1 GbE would show them all in different Partition Groups. They'd then all list just the ammount of storage on the datastore that they were providing. Obviously this is a
There's only one 10 GbE switch that's in use so all three 10 GbE connections are going to it.
With the 1 GbE, each server is connecting to different physical switches but should still have "layer 2" from my understand as they're on the same dedicated VSAN VLAN. Vmkping works fine, but I know that VSAN requires multicast to function. Is it possible or common that multicast isn't spanning these switches on the same VLAN?

Whenever I try to launch the Mobile Application Management Fundamentals AirWatch lab from training.air-watch.com I get an error: "An error was encountered attempting to start the lab" Before this it was kinda flaky, telling me it couldn't connect to the lab.

I'm using vRO 5.5. I create a workflow and add three steps for user to input.
In Step1, user will select param_1. In Step2, param_2 is set as Mandatory Input and Predefined list of elements. It'll call an Action to get this list. param_1 will be the parameter of this action. See picture below:
Now I start this workflow, after I select param_1, the Action in Step2 will be called immediately and "Mandatory field is not set" error appeared in Step2. But I don't even click Next to Step2.
I don't think it's a good user expeirence. Does anyone have a solution for this issue?

Hello, I manage (or rather I inherited) a v5.5 vSphere cluster build on 5 HP BL460c Gen7 and 8 blades. I have 85 guests (17 per host) of various Windows Server O/Ses and a couple of Linux appliances. Several production SQL servers reside in the cluster and several application web servers. Performance from the end user perspective is good. We will be adding another SQL and application server and down the road a virtual Mitel switch. I currently have the opportunity to add another blade and/or bump up the memory on my existing blades (currently 96GB each).
I need some metrics to justify this so I'm looking for some tools and/or advice. Using the vSphere client, I can see the cluster is using about 65% of available memory and only 10% of available Mhz. However, in total I have 120 logical processors available but I have 158 vCPU's defined across all my guests. Does this mean I could run into a CPU constraint? What other factors should I take into consideration?

I have Workstation 11 installed on a Lenovo Thinkpad W540 with 16GB RAM memory. The virtualization option are tuned on in the BIOS. When I start Workstation 11, I am unable to select the appropriate VM since the application hangs with a "Not Responding" message in the toolbar.

Our SSL cert recently expired and a new one was purchased and configured on our connection and security server. Now though if a user connects via a blast session they successfully connect to view.domain.com and the certificate shows the new one however once they log on and select a desktop pool they are stopped by a certificate error with the reason being that the certificate has expired. If you look at the certificate it shows the old expired certificate which has since been deleted form the server.
I have verified the friendly name of the cert is vdm in lower case and both the connection and security servers have been rebooted.
We are using view 6.0.1. Has anyone come across this issue.. The cert was imported with the private key being exportable and if I go to export the cert from either server I am given the option to export with the private key. View administrator shows green for both servers with no SSL errors.

I've created an VPS and installed Ubuntu Server 14.04.02 x64.

I'm rebuilding my environment for VMware 6. I'm using the vRO appliance and initial setup via the web page seems to be have been ok but I have a few questions. (it appears to have been almost the same as 5.5)
So far I have 3 vms: vCenter (windows on domain), PSC (windows on domain) and vRO (appliance)
From the documentation the ldap is deprecated so I'm using SSO but I don't fully understand it (It's magic how I got it working in 5.5 and it was a little bit of a mess so I'm trying to fix things in 6)
Under Authentication > SSO configuration, what is the vRO admin group used for? Where is permissions set/coming from/used for? Should I be selecting the vsphere.local domain or my active directory domain? I tried using my credentials on the test login page and it says I'm not authorized to login to the Orchestrator client but when I try the client it works (except I only see PowerShell, SNMP, SNMP Samples and Workflow documentation workflows) . I also don't see orchestrator in the web client (I assume it's because I still need to do some config via the client?)

and when I check the extension manager, I don't see a com.vmware.vco. I suspect I got the dns name wrong when setting up the appliance and maybe I need to put in my own DNS entry (like when deploying the vcenter appliance?)
Am I making any sense? Do I need to delete my appliance and redeploy with DNS entry already in place and using fully qualified name? Is there any cleanup to do in vCenter or the PSC first?

sometimes on logoff when a writable volume is assigned to an user the logoff process hangs, remaining in "Signing out" forever. I have to reset or power the VM off. Is this a known bug or I'm doing something wrong?
