Hello,
I am a longtime user of Workstation. Just upgraded from 11 to 12 yesterday and am now experiencing a hard crash on my well used Windows 7 Professional VM - MKS-RenderMain: Unable to start a 3d renderer
This is a hard crash, stopping the VM and forcing me back out to the VM 12 Host environment. When I restart the Win 7 VM the Guest OS acts just like a hard crash had occurred... disk check before OS boot, etc.
I have never experienced this crash in VMWare Workstation and now I've received it twice yesterday after upgrading and three times today. Checked for updates for the Workstation 12 product - no dice.
About the Win 7 VM
* I did a hardware compatibility upgrade on it to Workstation 12 after the upgrade but have no changed ANY of the other VM configs.
* VMWare Tools inside the Guest OS was upgraded as well.
* Graphics Memory is set to 1 GB (recommended)
I'm at wit's end... so far I am not impressed with Workstation 12.. lots of money for brand new bugs and for my work, no performance improvements at all.
Anyone have any ideas? Thanks in advance!
