ich bin neu beim Thema Mac und Fusion.
Ich habe meinen alten Windows 7 Rechner als VM konvertiert.
Die VM startet und der Windows Startbildschirm ist vorhanden. Leider kann ich die VM nicht bedienen, sprich mit einem Klick auf die Maschine komme ich nicht auf den Windows Bildschirm.
Leider kann ich auch keine VM Ware Tools installieren ist ausgegraut.

I've enabled shared folders in Virtual Machine Settings/Options as "Always enabled" and map as a network drive in Windows guests. The host path and share name are set in the Folders view and the Attributes are set as Enabled.
In a Windows 7 Pro guest, I've mapped the share as a drive.
Every time I start the guest (since release 12.5), the guest comes up with the "Could not reconnect all network drives" warning. If you click on the status bar icon for the network drives, the above created share shows as disconnected yet, if I click on it, the shared drive opens (kind of like kicking it to wake it up).
This behavior didn't happen in previous releases. How do I get the guest to reconnect to shared drives at startup automatically?

We had some permission issue with the UEM folder for redirection as it was not set with proper permissions from the very beginning. So, we went ahead and created a new folder(UEMdata). We had a condition set in both the folder redirection that if the users are part of a security group folder redirection will be redirected to the new folder and not to the old one.
Redirection is working fine but I can see that once in a while the folders are created in the old folder but it’s just the root folders (Desktop, Documents) no files within.
The UEM logs states that the condition has been applied successfully and redirected to the new folder. I would like to know what is causing this.

we have stretched 16-node cluster. For some maintenance reason we need to shutdown all nodes in secondary site. Is there a know procedure for this task?

In VMware Workstation Pro for Windows, when I install Windows as a guest, I use the option to "stretch" the guest OS display. In Workstation Pro Version 15, the option is called "Keep Aspect Ratio Stretch". I have to do this because I am using a laptop that has only a 15" screen but a 4k resolution. The Windows setup screens at this resolution are super tiny and almost impossible to read without a magnifying glass. Stretching them resolves this problem. I only need this during installation before the Windows display drivers get installed.
I notice that when I connect to another system running Workstation in order to install a shared VM, I have no option to stretch the display of the guest. In other words, the option to stretch seems to only be available when I am performing a local installation and not installing a shared machine on a remote system.
Is there any known workaround for this?

I download VMware Workstation 15 Pro and I have the norton antivirus I also install Unlock 3.0.1 for Mac OS X 10. 14 but what my antivirus is turne on the I cannot open Vmware.exe and I have a popup about vmware-unity-helper.exe when my antivirus is turn off I am able to open VMware.exe

My environment, 2 R740 servers with a ME4012 DAS directly connected to both hosts via redundant SAS cables. Connected to gigabit switches via 2 redundant NICs, 1 connection each. I am trying to set up fault tolerance on one of my VMs and having the issue with latency. I was wondering if it is possible to set up a 10G direct connect network (physically connected with CAT6) rather than via a switch, as we have no 10G network ports. If so, what would be the best way to configure it in vSphere/vCenter?

Back again for insight from those of you that have built server provisioning workflows before.
I have my data center and cluster i want to deploy VM too.
I'm trying to determine best way to obtain the following items.
1. ESXi host that is online. (I can deploy a VM too)
2. Resource pool for cluster/ESXi host I'm deploying on. Should only be 1 as we don't use resource pools in our environments.
Any insight on how i would go about getting this information?

We have vSphere Replication appliance 6.1.1 and the target site is source vCenter, recently we installed new self signed certificate as it was expired.
Now replication status showing (Enabled OK) but disconnected from vCenter6.0.
Also, lost Appliance root console access.
Could you please suggest how can we recover the appliance access and can connect it back to vCenter again?

I'm attempting to install the ServiceNow vRealize plugin (i.e. "VMware_vRealize_Automation_ITSM_Scoped_Plugin_4_0") on my Kingston instance (Build tag: glide-kingston-10-17-2017__patch9-09-05-2018) but getting these errors:
when attempting to power on a newly deployed vCD 9.5 receive the following in vCenter error:
attempting to power on vcd appliance error cannot initialize property 'vami.netmask0.VMware vCloud Director'. Network '' has no associated network protocol pool
a Google search reveals that this error proports to be due to no network pool. however there is one created on the nsx logical switch. but also the cell is statically assigned an IP address
I am unable to make a connection to the destination server. What are some things I could do to troubleshoot this error? I am using horizon 7.5 with UAG 3.3 and a two-NIC configuration.
I'm running VMware Fusion 10.1.1 on High Sierra.
I have a High Sierra guest and I'd like to shrink the virtual disk to reclaim space.
With Sierra (and older) guests, I would execute the following command inside the guest to shrink the disk:
sudo /Library/Application\ Support/VMware\ Tools/vmware-tools-cli disk shrink /
But when I run that command inside the High Sierra guest (APFS virtual disk), I get the following error:
Partition / is not shrinkable
What command should be used to shrink an APFS disk?

Ever since upgrading to esxi 6.0 U2 (from 5.5) we've had a problem with vmtools on our windows vms (2008R2 and 2012R2). The vmtools show as current but "not running". If I RDP or open a vsphere console to one of these vm's, the vmtools will start and show as running. However, after logging off of the vm, the vmtools will stop again (sometimes right away; other times it takes a while). I opened an SR with VMware support and they suggested upgrading tools from 10.0.6 to 10.0.9 in which I have done. The issue is still occurring on some virtual machines. I've checked power options within windows on the vm's to see if there was something making the vm sleep, but I don't see anything like that. Just wondering if anyone else has experienced this. We don't have this problem with any of our Linux vms.
