Hello
We got a VMWARE View Environment with abaout 1000 Win 7 Desktops. I have recently done the VCP Course/Exam and learned the different memory features.
One of it is the transparent page sharing feature.
I analyzed the impact of this on our ESX-Hosts and realized, that its not even working on our VDI-Cluster.
So i started googling the internet and came across the ASLR Feature of Win 7. They say, that this may prevent Win 7 Guests to share their memory. But overall it should still works and "save" some memory.
But my Win 7 Desktops with 2 GB RAM are using all of it. I had configured to reserve all guest memory before, but i changed this to "no reservation", but still the machines consumes what i give them. They just not want to share their memory.
How can this be? Do I need to activate TPS somewhere? Any ideas?
Or are the savings with TPS so small i not recognize it?
Thanks for help and advice.
Edit: I just noted that may the CPU/MMU Virtualization Setting can provide me more TPS efficiency.? And would you may in a VDI environment change to a software MMU like mentioned here:
