How To Improve Video / Graphics - HP Proliant DL360 G8 - esxi 6.5

I am experiencing poor video quality on my VM's, which are all Windows 2008 R2 64bit servers, running on my HP Proliant DL360 G8, and esxi 6.5.

Simple applications like browsers on the servers are very grainy.  One app in particular, an android emulator "bluestacks" would not install at all, claiming the video / graphics were inadequate.

I don't know if this is a matter of just boosting the video memory on the virtual machine settings, to a larger amount of memory assigned to the vm, or whether there is a need for a better video card in the host itself.

I've seen posts on other sites about complex calculations of x and y pixels to arrive at how much video memory to assign.  I have tried simple increases but without success.

There is a big difference on the vm's from my Windows 10 desktop and I'd like to improve the vm video quality.

Bonus question: Does anyone know if my server came with a sound card?  I can't seem to get any sound from the vm's, either.
