Hello,
This mornign one of my servers was not responding. After looking at it it seems the datastore ran out of space.
I have managed to free up 76GB's and now I am being asked to consolidate the server. In snapshot manager there are no snapshots. However, if I browse the server folder in the datastore I have 27 snapshots that don't appear to have been committed the majority of them are over 50GB's in size.
I ran a consolidation and it showed "In progress" for about 10 mins and then said timed out.
I now cannot do anything with the server as it says there is another process running.
If I look at the processes I can see it there in the list:-
# vim-cmd vimsvc/task_list
(ManagedObjectReference) [
'vim.Task:haTask-99-vim.VirtualMachine.consolidateDisks-446832425',
But if I try to look at the task_info I see errors:-
# vim-cmd vimsvc/task_info ha-host-vim.HostSystem.acquireCimServicesTicket-446839500
(vmodl.fault.ManagedObjectNotFound) {
dynamicType = <unset>,
faultCause = (vmodl.MethodFault) null,
obj = 'vim.Task:ha-host-vim.HostSystem.acquireCimServicesTicket-446839500',
msg = "Received SOAP response fault from [<cs p:1f3047a8, TCP:localhost:443>]: GetInfo
The object has already been deleted or has not been completely created",
I am now stuck and don't know what to do. Is it just a case of waiting for the process to end?
Thanks,
Glenn
