Which database to use for VCSA 6.5 u1?

I was under the impression that we could use, and should use, an external database for environments larger than 20 hosts and not use the embedded PostGRE database.  Is that the case?

The system I'll be installing will be around 30 hosts, handling server and VDI VMs.  Around 700 VDI machines.

I saw this thread that indicates you can use an external SQL database (Oracle as well, but we won't be going with that). Re: vCenter Server 6.5 appliance Database

However, when I try to check the VMware Interoperability Matrix, choose vCenter server 6.5 u1 I see the databases supported but they all have a caveat stating that they are not supported with the VCSA.  See attached pic.

So can I use an external SQL database?  If not, do I not use the VCSA and use a Windows based vCenter server?

Just looking for some clarification.

Thanks.
